Hello and welcome to Mr Predictor, the exciting column where I analyse the week’s big football games and provide useful betting tips. We’ve got thrilling league action in the top leagues and also the League Cup final in England. With the first Silverware of the season up for grabs, will it be super-rich Man City or the rejuvenated Sunderland who take the prize? Will you include either of those teams in your bet this week?

Cardiff vs Fulham– Saturday
All of the last 7 meetings between these sides have ended up with both teams scoring and 4 of the last 5 meetings have ended up with a 2-1 scoreline. Cardiff have taken 16 of their 22 points this season at home, and with Craig Bellamy back from injury they will see this game as “do or die” and absolutely must win. Cardiff however are the lowest scorers in the league, and I think Fulham are more organised under new boss Felix Magath, so I can see them nicking the win to move above their relegation rivals in the table.

Chelsea vs Tottenham – Saturday
The blues are in great form and can extend their lead over rivals Man City to a whopping 9 points with a win here. Chelsea have still never lost a home league game under Mourinho and I don’t think they will start here, especially with Hazard and Schurrle in such superb form. It was 1990 that Spurs last won at Stamford Bridge, and 26 matches have passed there since. The home team should win this one, although it won’t be easy.

Arsenal vs Everton– Saturday
With Arsenal struggling in Europe and the Premier League, this FA Cup game has become very important, with a place in the semi-finals at Wembley at stake.These fixtures are often low scoring, with only 6 goals scored in the last 5 games between them and the last 3 games being draws. Everton have Lukaku back from injury, and he could start here. The Gunners have only been beaten at home once this season in the league, and Wenger will take the Cup seriously now, but I can see this being a draw.

Man City vs Wigan– Sunday
After their success in the League Cup last week, City will be trying to win the FA Cup too, and although they lost the FA Cup final last season to Wigan, I don’t see that happening again. At home, Man City have won 12 of 13 in the league and averaged scoring about 3 goals a game. With Toure, Negredo, Dzeko and Aguero all regular goalscorers, Wigan could be in big trouble here. I don’t see another upset like last season, I just see a simple progression to the next round for Man City.

Napoli vs Roma – Sunday
Games between these sides seem to end up raining goals, as we have seen this season, with 10 goals in the 3 meetings they have had already. All of the last 5 meetings between these teams have ended up with a home win, and I can see that trend continuing. Napoli are in confident mood after overcoming Swansea in the Europa league last week and have only lost at home once this season. With their creative talents of Higuain and Hamsik available, I’m going to tip the home team to upset 2nd place Roma and close the gap in the league table.

Bayern Munich vs Arsenal– Tuesday
This is pretty much game over after the first leg and things could have been so different if MesutOzil had scored his penalty early on. Arsenal did win 2-0 at the Allianz Arena last season, but it is not a result that I can see occurring again. The home side have won 12 home games from 12 in the Bundesliga, scoring 37 and only conceding 6, so I think it is very unlikely that the Gunners will be able to get anything from this game. I’m going to predict another home win, taking the overall scoreline from the 2 legs into a 4-0 win.

Atletico Madrid vs AC Milan– Wednesday
Milan are one of the most inconsistent teams at the moment, brilliant one week, then appalling the next week. With Superstars in their squad like Balotelli and Kaka, anything is possible, and Milan have to push for goals after their 1-0 defeat from the first leg. I think both teams will push forward and create lots of chances, so it will be tough to predict who will actually win. Over the course of 90 minutes they will probably end up both scoring and I’m going to go for a draw.

Barcelona vs Man City – Wednesday
City are full of confidence after lifting silverware last weekend, and although they are 2-0 down from the first leg, they will still think they have a slim chance of pulling off a shock victory. Against Neymar, Messi, Fabregas and Iniesta it won’t be easy for City, and at the Nou Camp, the home team have only lost once this season, scoring a huge 46 goals in 13 La Liga games. City have nothing to lose after many people having written them off already, so I think they will play well, but probably be only good enough to get a draw this time.
